Okay but room for improvement
I bought the Boba 3G to replace my Baby Bjorn. I had read that the Baby Bjorn was bad for my baby's body and my husband found the Baby Bjorn to be extremely uncomfortable. The Boba seems to hold my 25 lbs 10 1/2 mos. baby's body in a better position, knees even with the hips, but there is room for improvement. First it is almost impossible to put on (especially on the back) without help. Also it is so low on the back that my girl cannot see anything. She would be happier if she could see over my shoulder. Also if she falls asleep there is no support for her head. There is a sleeping hood, which works well, but unless you have super long arms is very difficult to use without help. Also, I am thin and I find that the Boba is too wide for me. I have adjusted the straps and the front chest and waist buckles to as narrow as they go and it is still not fitted enough. Also, it is difficult for my baby to find a comfortable place to put her arms. They are tucked under my arms in my armpits (which is very uncomfortable for me), tucked between us in front of her body (which is again uncomfortable for me because it's like she's pushing off of me), or she has to push down the sides of the carrier to have free movement of her arms. Finally it is super hot, especially if she wets her diaper. When my husband uses it, they both come home covered in sweat. Overall I think it's a good carrier, but I think it is better suited to a slightly older child--maybe 2 and up. I am considering getting either the Babyhawk or the Ergo to use until my little one gets bigger. I wish someone would design a forward facing front carrier for a larger child. My girl loves to be in the front where she can participate in whatever we're doing. Or if I'm stuck with a back carrier I wish the support straps were against my body not over the baby's arms.

Great carrier, comfortable
We bought this for occasional use with our 19 month old toddler (airport, supermarket, etc. trips). She isn't very heavy (just over 23 lbs.), but very tall (over 36 inches) so it's still very comfortable, using this only in backpack mode. Following the instructions to put a child on by yourself in backpack mode though was difficult and in the end, it required two of us to put her in. So while I think it's great and simplistic once they are already in the backpack carrier position, it's very hard to put a toddler in by yourself. Getting her out required two of us also...So a fine solution if you plan to use this mainly on your front or side by yourself, but if you have a tall, active toddler, and doing it in backpack mode, perhaps consider that you may need extra help putting them in/taking them out. I don't think this issue is isolated with this brand/model either though, having used other brands in the past.

Not for the super slim or broad
I'm short and tiny (my bra band is 28 or 30), and no amount of adjusting makes this work for me. The setup with multiple buckles makes it so, when adjusted to the smallest length, buckles dig into my arms and sides. My husband, who is 6 ft and very barrel chested, couldn't wear it either because, when the straps are adjusted to the proper length for him, the curve of the padded area puts the end of that area right into his arm pits.We really wanted to like this carrier. It has such great features, and the material is so much nicer than on our Beco Baby Butterfly II Carrier In Robots , but the Boba just wouldn't work for either of us.

Excellent Toddler Carrier
Before a recent trip to NYC I realized both that my 2 year old (~28lbs) had outgrown her beloved Beco Gemini and that I had no desire to push a stoller which would be empty 80% of the time around town. From reviews the Boba seemed like the best option for a bigger child and it surpassed my expectations. The carrier is structured to create an effective "seat" which is very comfortable for the child - she asked to go in it when she was tired and never complained when she was carried. The additional height prevented my daughter from "arching" back in both the front and back carries - while still enabling her arms to be free and over the straps. While admittedly I rarely have back problems, I was able to carry her for long stretches with no discomfort and, a not small detail for me, the straps were short enough so that the carrier hung nicely (not dragging or tripping me as the Gemini does) when it was not being used by the child. As babies, both of my children INSISTED on the front facing carry (I have used both the Bjorn Active and Gemini extensively) and also wanted substantial arm movement so I do not think this would have worked for us as a newborn to toddler carrier. I do wish I had bought it earlier (maybe at 15 months or so...) but in no way regret the purchase as I am sure it will get a lot use and save me from pushing the empty stroller for at least another year.Update May 11, 2014.My daughter is now 3.5 years, almost 40 pounds and more than 3ft tall, and we still keep this carrier in the car and travel with it as it our go to "nap on the go" device. Typically we load a carry bag (I.e. Whole food cheapie re usable) and I put that in the carrier and wear it as a de facto knapsack. When nap time comes along, my daughter goes to the carrier and my husband carries the bag. We have gotten every cent worth out of this carrier even though I bought for a 2 year old. If you have an average size child and few back problem and are looking for a stroller alternative, buy this carrier

parfait
