It worked well, with modifications. I am fanatical about food safety, so I wanted to test how cold it got. I filled the ice compartment and put a refrigerator thermometer inside. It only got down to 60 degrees and then quickly began rising. So I then also added ice in the bottom and I happened to have a stainless steel plate that fit perfectly. When I did that, the temperature was able to get down to 47 degrees and stay there a while before rising again. Correct refrigerator temperature is 37-42, and food can safely stay at room temp no more than 2 hours, so this allowed me to keep the sushi out for three hours. Overall, I liked it, especially the lid which keeps the bugs out. If the weather had been very hot, it might not have worked as well. But it is certainly better than not having anything to keep it cool.

I have used this so many times to carry seafood and to keep things fresh outside. It works very well! I love it! Thinking about purchasing another one because I use this one so much!

This worked out very well for a dinner theater function.
