Ok for the money
This is really more of a booklet than a full book. It's a reprinting of the Benjamin Thorpe translation that is widely available in the public domain for free. The language used is very antiquated and difficult to follow at times. The publisher only includes the original Thorpe translation of the 166 stanzas, with no additional material. If you're looking for a small travel sized Havamal that you could almost fit into a decent sized wallet this may be a good purchase, but if you don't already own a copy of the Havamal, there are far better (albeit more expensive) translations readily available. Considering I only paid $6 for it, it wasn't necessarily a bad purchase, but there's little here for me recommend either, hence the neutral 3 star rating.

Nice size, nice concept, but too many errors
I cannot believe that this is a second edition. Anyone who strives to profit from spiritual writings should at least have perfect spelling when representing the Words of the High One. Please release a third edition. I neither want to keep my copy nor pass it on.(Review by the account-holder's wife)

Calling all Children of Odin!
Fantastic book. It survived Basic, and I'm carrying it still. It's a little worse for wear, but it still reads well.FYI, its notes section hold the Soldier's Creed and the Infantryman's Creed just fine.ST38: Leaving in the field his arms, let no man go a foot's length forward; for it is hard to know when on the way a man may need his weapon.

Some practical advice mixed in with the old Norse religious text
I enjoy reading this. I especially like the practical tips for better living, such as the recommendation to have a little something to eat BEFORE you go over to a friend's house expecting to be fed, because otherwise you may be a grouch. (It is a small book.)

Great book, perfect size.
I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it. He often works out of town and this pocket guide has been perfect as a travel companion. It tucks away nicely and does not take up very much room. There are errors in the translation, such as letters left off of words and letter being swapped around, but it is still a nice piece. Would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in studying the Hamaval.

Someone at the Amon Amarth show was holding this up in the first couple rows and I thought, I gotta have this!

Very Handy
the book is very handy, is not fully translated into modern language though makes it a bit difficult to read at times. I gave five stars because I am dyslexic, so old world grammar structure is just difficult for me not the fault of the author.

Easy to carry around
It's small enough to fit in my purse and easily stowed away. The text on the pages is perfect and I overall love reading the life lessons presented within it. My friend recommended this and I have zero regrets in buying it!

Pocket Havamal
Good book. Helps put thins back into prospective with this crazy world we live in. I found it on similar line to Confucius.(Probably spelt that wrong. Sorry.)

I dont understand it...
It’s not easy to understand. Written in riddles. Some of them just feel like a terrible translation

Brilliant little book
Brilliant little book and even though it’s based on mythology, many of the quotes make a lot of sense in the modern world...
