The language is stronger than I was expecting for some of the plays, but Silverstein's always had a twisted sense of humor. We may be preforming some of these short plays.

This is not what I thought about Shel Silverstein... Guess I prefer his poems

I use Shel Silverstein's writing for poetry read-alouds and creative ideas when students are beginning to write their own poetry. Had no idea how "adult" these plays would be, based on other favorite Silverstein books I've used in the past. The language is VERY graphic in these little plays and it unfortunately the book is inappropriate for use in a school situation. I highly recommend his other selections, however.
