Overall, nice light and $100 cheaper than the replacement at NAPA or O'Reilly. Pain in the ass to get to, but easy replacement after removing screws and forcing cover off the Avalanche to access the light. Molding tape is essential in replacing cover. As the other reviewers stated, the wiring was assembled with the wrong polarity. I ended up cutting the wires a few inches from the connector, and using the existing shrink tube to insulate them I soldered the wires back together black to red. Seems bright enough. Spent 3 hours mucking around with it though, much of that time trying to remove the old molding tape from the cover and top of the truck but that's Chevy's fault.

works great
pretty good fit on my 2002 chevy avalanche. I was chasing my tail at first on why it wouldn't turn on turned out the plug was wired backwards but pulled the blue clip and the wires pushed back in the correct way now it works as expected.

Wiring incorrect
Plug was wired backwards...rewired and works like a champ!
