I ordered 12' x 26' and proceeded to install. As a result of the difference in finished size, I have approximately 10" gap with no shade. Very disappointing. I choose not to "de-install" and return.Other than that, shade is as described and effectively shades approximately 24'.In reviewing description of product that I ordered prior to submitting this review, there are replies to finished size quesitons; however, one should not have to read questions to find this important information.

I purchased a "12 foot by 20 foot" tarp because it was the perfect size for my back deck. Problem is it actually measured 12 by 18 feet 9 inches! Really? Try as a might I cannot understand this kind of manufacturing error. This seems like a case of trying to unload a known defective product on hapless consumers. There are many other manufacturers of these shade cloths with these dimensions and when they say 20 feet, you get 20 feet. I have returned the item and am waiting for another. Will post an update when it arrives.Here's the update....don't waste your time with this company. They sent the replacement and it was again the exact same wrong size!The woman on the phone at the company was rather curt and perfunctory with me when I originally called to complain and specify exactly what was wrong with the tarp. She showed not a hint of concern. This should have been my clue. So they seem to know that they are selling a significantly undersized tarp and don't care. I will try another company called the Shade Cloth Store and give an update.

You would think if you ordered a 12x14 ft shade the dimensions would be close.... not even close. 11x13ft. I was hoping to stretch it after the sun hit it, but that made it even shorter. I made it work, but I am not happy at all. Especially after I contacted the seller and left the seller feedback. I got a short note that said "the finished size is smaller that the ordered size" how utterly dumb. When you think of clothing size, pipe size, shoe size, etc..., who wants close or almost the right size. Amazon should dump this seller.

I own the 6 X 30 90% shade mesh, I also own a 14 X 16 70% shade tarp, and a 12 X 6 70% shade tarp. All from this particular manufacturer, vendor, and all purchased here on Amazon.My 14 X 16 70% shade tarp is nearing the end of it's second season in the Southern sun. It is in perfect condition, looks brand new.A few weeks back we had a thunderstorm blow through with initial 40 mph peak gusts. It blew down a large tree in my yard. All three (3) of my shade tarps survived 40 mph gusts unscathed and unaffected.I attach them with those inexpensive colored aluminum snap clips (like you might see as a key-chain, typically rated 75 pound breaking strength). They should cost you .96 cents apiece on Amazon or at the Big Orange Box Hardware Store. Those I snap to either aircraft cable lines, or stout little eye-rings.This 6 X 30 90% tarp is hanging the entire width of my work-shed, the big open door of which faces West into the hot afternoon sun. The problem of the glaring late afternoon sun cooking me in the shed in August is solved.The sun is definitely, no question about it, cut down considerably under these tarps. You can feel it when you step into the shade from one of these. In my review of my 14 X 16 70% tarp I provide my pool temperatures before and after installation of the overhead tarp. The pool went from bath water warm to cool and refreshing.My wife wants me to put some of these over entire sections of her garden, which will be no problem to do. I'll sink some 6" X 6" X 12' posts, put the tarps on aircraft cable and she'll be able to open or close them at will (I made a simple pulley system with ropes to pull the tarps open or closed on both my pool and work shed).This is a fantastic, well built, high-quality product. You will not be disappointed.

This is exactly what we needed to help keep the sun off of our chickens during the day. We covered a chicken run with the 14x24 ft shade so we would have a little extra to hang over the sides and give more shade in the morning/evening. The 90% UV blocking is perfect since it lets a little bit of light in and the wind moves through freely so we don’t have to worry about this ripping off in a storm like a tarp would.If you are on the fence about buying this I can say that we were very pleased. This is a thick shade that still lets some light through so if you want it for privacy or shade then this is perfect. I did see some reviews that said the measurements were off but we didn’t need ours to be exact so I didn’t let that deter me.

I liked the weight of the product thickness was good very disappointed in the finished size was smaller than stated. Supposedly 12x 26 was a foot short for the project project was 25 foot 10 inches should have plenty left over. Now we have to another piece to complete the project and the smallest one we can find is a 6x12. Not a happy customer.

I'm heartbroken. I have to replace my shade cloths. After 5 punishing summers in the northern Calif high desert, high winds and extreme dry heat, they have finally given up. I am ordering new ones today. Best patio cover I've ever had.

I ordered 8’x14’. This is 12” short. It should have gone all the way to e post.I read many reviews saying the measurements were way off so I’m not surprised. It still works. I like the way it looks. It’s made in China. They clearly don’t understand measurements.
