This is a great book, I ordered this book because i just finished the first book, assimil with ease 1, which it was also a fantastic book too, this book takes you to an advanced level of the french language, the book without the CDs is not worth it, if you really want to improve your french and speak like a native just buy this book and the CDs but remember first learn the first one which is called french with ease 1

Amazing method for self learning.I learned six languages thanks to Asssimil.

I had to write one for this book because it is that good. I have a degree in French from a top university, and have studied or at least perused pretty much every French language book under the sun. This is the best. Hands down.What this book manages to do in under 200 pages other books can't do in 500 pages (with cd's). What so great about this book is the way it structures the lessons - they're short but loaded. The fact that it's organized in short segments means that you can work at your own pace - whether that's one lesson (which can be done in 20 min or less) or more. The lessons are interesting, relevant, and perhaps the best part is that they include footnotes with history/cultural information. The beauty of the French language is not only the way it sounds, but also because it's intrinsically tied to an enormously rich culture. Unlike other books, this one takes advantage of that. Finally, the size of the book and the way it's made is great - it's small enough to put in a purse or even your back pocket, and it's light since it's not hardcover, yet very sturdy. It also comes with a string bookmarker which is a nice touch.With the Advanced version, it's perfect for those who already have a solid basis of the language. It will help take your vocabulary and language skills to the next level.In my 10 + years of learning French this is the ONLY book that I would recommend. It's really a great, great buy. Worth every penny. You will not regret it.

This book is great! it doesn't come with the CD, although recordings can be found on the LinQ app if you like. The dialogue and description of the conversations is thorough and the level of difficulty is progressive, while the expressions are deep and meaningful.

Do not buy this book. I ordered many copies of this book for Intermediate French student use. When we opened the books, the inside of the book was page for page the Assimil ADVANCED book with the Eifel Tower on the cover, just an older version of it. We are not happy with this, which seems to amount to False Advertising of an Intermediate level that does not seem to exist. I cannot return the books since they came from many different places, including India! The books we received use cheap paper and the book binding falls apart when you open the book wide upon first use. Buy the newer advanced book and you will get better quality paper and binding if you are looking for an Advanced level book.

I just recently completed Assimil's first volume, "French With Ease" and I was so pleased with the method I bought the advanced level: "Using French". I've just dabbled in this book so far, but it looks excellent. Basically, it incorporates the material taught in the previous volume, but continues on with more advanced grammar, new vocabulary and idioms, and a wealth of cultural information. It's well worth the price. Enjoy.

I just got this book thinking that the CD/audio would be included (as one reviewer had posted), but I was wrong. If there aren't any audio accompanying this, it's difficult for me to speak like a native! But nevertheless, it should be helpful in other aspects. Just letting other customers know that it does not contain the audio, and if you're okay with that, this will be the book for you.
