For peak season snow and possibly worse weather conditions you will definitely want a buffer or a balaclava under the mask. Other than that it's the same high quality material and stitching that provides an excellent product and one of the few sellers that do NOT photoshop their product onto photos. 6/5 Highly recommended.*2018*Brought this product for use when snowboarding. Wanted something to cover my nose and mouth that allows some breath-ability without the material adsorbing too much moisture.The material is of good quality with the fleece being durable so that fur does not end up in your mouth and the outside material repelling small amounts of water. The front mesh allows you to exhale the blunt of your breath and the sides for venting the excess breath as well as allowing small airflow in. There are 3 vertical Velcro straps that allow some adjustment as well as a pull cord to tighten the mask further. Overall product is as described by the seller.Temperature at time of use were 3 degrees to -5 degrees. From my own experience using this half face mask when snowboarding, there was no need to adjust the Velcro too tightly nor the need to use the pull cords, the nose bridge on my googles allowed it to pin down on the face mask holding it in position and the chin strap from my helmet kept it in place. There is a reason you would want to wear it loosely, this is because the inside of the mouth area is made of fleece and despite the mesh helping your breath to escape the fleece will absorb moisture and will eventually become very damp if not frosty. After an hour or so I would start pulling the face mask down when resting or on a ski lift simply to prolong it's use before it the fleece becomes fully damp and uncomfortable which is about lunch time. After this you will probably want lay it out to dry under the sun or have a spare mask/buffer handy if there is no sun.I honestly can't imagine a fix for the fleece adsorbing moisture yet as it stands this is a very good half face mask that is both warm on the inside and water repellent on the outside while giving you some airflow. Well deserving of a 5* I am considering buying another.Lastly some extras...1) If worn with a balaclava you will look like a ninja from a certain video game, other people will also think you look like a ninja. Do you like looking like a ninja while tearing up the slopes?2) Snowballs will go through the mesh. Don't get hit in the mouth.3) Do not wear in high winds or snowstorm/blizzards as the face mask will no longer keep you warm. Cold face not fun.4) Always carry spare masks or buffs.

My snowboarding days are long gone! I have a chronic obstructive lung condition and cold weather is a real challenge for me. Cold weather seriously restricts my outdoor activity. My airways constrict and also become more moist when out in cold weather. I also need O2 therapy to help with breathlessness when active. In the past I've tried using scarves and masks without much success. Grace Folly rocks! The half face mask allows me to socialise, walk the dog in the park during cold snaps. My eyeglasses don't fog up and by passing my O2 tube under my outer clothing and the Grace Folly mask my airways are protected, and I can see where I'm going! The mask became very uncomfortable after using it a few times, it felt sharp and caused irritation to both sides and the back of my neck.The velcro on the back works as expected but is a pain when it starts to dig into the back of the neck if it's not positioned properly.The mask does keep your cheeks warm but the mouth and lips will freeze. Furthermore, i feel that this mask lowers the amount of oxygen that I get as I'm constantly finding myself out of breath and light headed when wearing it. Whereas this does not happen when I have it off.In addition to this, the mask never seems to sit right. Doing it too loose with cause the mask to slip down the face or twist side to side and doing the mask to tight will cause pressure and pain to the nose as well as limiting head movement as trying to turn with both your nose and neck.

This is a warm fleecy windproof face mask. I have had it on my motorbike with an open face helmet and it definitely works. Why 3 stars? The fit is actually quite large. I appear to have a very small head as I can only just get a fit with contact on the Velcro. Secondly in the advert it clearly shows the it being worn up around the ears, which is principally why I bought this half face mask. However this fit is impossible to achieve and it even states in the instructions it should not be worn this way. Anyway, great to a point.

Just received this item. It was dirty on arrival with hair on it. I’m guessing it was a return and wasn’t thoroughly checked before being put back into circulation. This is unacceptable especially during these times as I make sure to keep a clean environment for my family. The product was intended for my son and had I not opened it to check it he would have been wearing someone’s else’s dirty mask and caught something from it. I’m utterly disgusted and

Good product but the inside stinks of B.O.!!The inside is fleecy and warm while the outside appears waterproof. The product seems good but my initial experience was ruined by the inside fleece smelling of B.O. which is wholly unpleasant. A product should come new and smelling like it! How a face mask can smell of B.O. is beyond me unless the person packing it wiped it under their armpits!!

I bought this to alleviate the effects of the cold air on my bronchial tubes. It works to a degree in that it stops most ofthe cold air entering your lungs but not all. I use this when walking the dog, so not overly energetic. I do do some mountain bike rides so will be trying it out. I think initially you will be breathing in some cold air but as you warm up it should be more effective. I appreciate the mesh has to be quite open to enable breathing when attaining a reasonable level of activity. It is a shame you cannot slot in different grades of filtration.
