I just learned of Sir Henry's this past week and I had to try it. Reasonable price, nice mild scent, easy to lather, great residual slickness. Some have complained of not getting a good lather. I bowl lather and soak my brush during my shower. When I am ready to lather, I squeeze the lower half of my brush between my thumb and first finger. I swirl the brush in the soap then move to the bowl and so far I have not had to add any water to have a thick bubble less lather. I would assume face lathering could achieve the same results. My recommendation would be try this soap, you will not regret it.

This is my new favorite shaving soap. It smells soooooo good and, aye, 'tis a manly scent! I never get sick of the scent. I have tried a few other soaps in the Sir Henry's/Black Tie Razor line: LVS, El Jefe, and of course Sir Henry's Sandalwood. They are each unique, provide the best shave and smell great, but this new Black & Tan is my favorite! One other note, I have tried other more expensive soaps ($35 plus!) Thinking that they would be so amazing. Well, they weren't any better than Sir Henry's/Black Tie soaps and in some cases inferior in performance. At $10 this soap blows them all away!

This soap is too thin, even after creating a thick lather with my brush. I've used Colonel Conk soap for years and wanted to try something new. I love the scent of this soap but unfortunately have to go back to my old soap as it's just too hard to get a close shave with this soap.

It does make a rich lather. I thought fragrance was a little light.

Great pre shave lather with pleasing scent that last.
