Magnetic Net Release for Fly Fishing Color is Black

10LB pull! I don't think so! It snaps together well but didn't seem too strong so I got out my weights. It can handle 2Lbs but not 3Lbs so how do they claim 10? It can probably work for a lightweight net but probably not a long handle net. The other thing I didn't care for is the lanyard, it's only 8 inches and will stretch to 36 inches. It will work but wish it was a little longer. I will keep it and try it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.UPDATE....After using it this past weekend it works well for small nets but will not work for larger heavier nets. Holds larger nets while standing still but net falls off while walking or moving around. The lanyard is long enough if you hook it to the bottom of the net and hook the magnet to the top than hook the other end of the lanyard to the bottom of your vest. I would recomend getting a stronger magnet but you can't trust what is listed a the magnet strength.

Overall, once complete, this magnetic net release works well. However it was shipped without the parts needed attach the magnet to the net, attach the magnet to your d-ring on back of vest or waders, and did not attach a clip to attach cord to belt. Other then that it's a great product once you make those other parts yourself.

I recently got this to hold my net. In a half day on the river it dropped my net 3 times without me pulling on it. All 3 times were the result of something hitting my net (mostly some sticks).Does it hold the net? YESThe "pull" weight is lighter than I would say you should probably have.I will be returning and looking for something else.

Is the magnet strong enough to hold 10lbs I dont think so. Is it strong enough to hold my wooden trout net, Yes. it was cheaper than the other magnet releases and did exactly as it said it would exculding the whole 10lbs. thing. But It will work for my purposes.

Product delivered promptly. Seems to be very satisfactory, magnet is extremely strong. I sometimes travel thru thick brushy areas and woods to get to my trout fishing spots, haven't had the net pulled off the back of my trout vest yet. Easy to reattach by swinging the net and magnet over my shoulder and it snaps right on the other end.

This may not hold a 10lb weight but it has the perfect pull for my net. If it had a 10lb pull it would rip my vest off. It works well for me. I have the frabil corded net about 2 lbs. it hangs on my back until I need it and pull it at the perfect tension. I recommend

I have wondered how well this magnetic release would work. It has been very successful for me. I do have to set the magnet on the net in one place but can hook it up with one hand. Wish I would have thought of it.

I should have known better than to expect anything other than junk for $8. The magnet in this product is not strong enough to hold a fishing net. To make it worse, the product is shipped without pieces to attach to a fishing vest. It will cost me more for return shipping than the credit I would receive. Take my advice and stay away from this product.
