Why does it not work when I test socket? But LED light normally, and test hot wire normally? Answer: Please make sure your voltage detector tip must be inserted into the hot slot. When some wall socket has child safe lock, the tip can't detect it, you have to take apart the cover to test. Sometimes our batteries didn't put well, it will make the device seems not work, please take out the battery, inspect the battery connection and then try again.

This was delivered very quickly - good because I needed it to replace previous (broken) tester. It is much more sensitive than the previous one and gives a louder signal.

Potential life saver.
Perfect for my needs. Easily identifies live cables, really useful when changing sockets out in my workshop.As this is the first device of this type that I've owned, I have no other reference but a definite must if undertaking electrical work.

Provides safety at an excellent price
The voltage tester allowed me to carry out electrical work, by ensuring the only the part of the home electrics that I was using was switched off and safe to work on.

Poor fittings inside to house betteries
Very dodgy looking batteries supplied with item.Thrown immediately.Had to supply my own.Poor fittings inside to house betteries.Connections were loose.I liken this to a cheap child's toy,but the problem is voltage testers are not meant to be toys.They are meant to give some safety assurance.

Good for the price but a little too sensitive making it hard to identify individual cores.

Faulty instrument
Useless, only works when it feels like it. Being a retired electrical engineer I have used this type of tester many times but would not trust this particular one

Good product, does the job...
Works just as it is describe, easy to use on cables, hidden cables and sockets. Really good, really pleased with this, checked my electrical sockets very quickly.

I could barely get close to a firefly before it would go off. So not for me.
