Decent phone in most respects except camera, which is a complete deal-breaker
I've had this phone for a couple of weeks now (and so has my wife) and was waiting to get a good handle on it before writing a review. I'm pretty gutted because for the price its a very good piece of kit with one major downside. I'm happy with the quality of it, although it is very slippery and I've never dropped a phone as often as this one. The display is nice, the AMOLED has good contrast and nice deep blacks. The OS is reasonable although it developed a boot loop after the last update (as did my wife's) where it kept rebooting the native launcher "launcher 3" and the only solution seemed to be to install a 3rd party launcher; which turned out to be an improvement. However the major problem with the phone, which in our view makes it a very niche product, is the camera. The camera quality is complete £$%^&. I mean seriously bad. We have 2 small children that we want to take lots of pictures of and the image quality is terrible in low light conditions and barely ok in good outdoor lighting. There was an OTA update which apparently was supposed to improve the camera; but its still dreadful. Annoyingly we'll be replacing these phones because we don't want to have a couple of years where we can't take half decent pictures of our kids. If you've got no interest in having a camera with you then I'd actually recommend this phone because it would be good at this price point. If you value the camera, then its a straightforward no go I'm afraid. Would be 4 stars if the camera was half decent, as it is its 2, and a complete avoid if you want pictures :(BTW it DEFINITELY DOES have fingerprint in contrast to another of the reviews, this actually works fine.

Love this phone .
Love this phone . looks similar to i7 and feels around the same weight and size as the 7+ .This is defiantly not an i7 it has an amazing battery life in comparison and it will go all day with ease usually .The camera isn't bad at all .Is fast and smooth and runs multiple apps with ease . the screen is visibly better than the Z1All in all am Glad I bought this phone it seems to be working out great value for money so far .Update had this phone a couple of weeks now . have found the battery life to be amazing and has lasted all day every day so far . screen touch sensitive seemed a bit questionable at the start but a friend told me to adjust the curser speed to max and now its great . but I do have them strange fingers that don't always register on touch screen in general .

Great value
Just love it! Really good value - octa core, 6GB, 1920x1080...for less than half the price of the iphones, samsungs, etc.If you are a confident person and don't need the brands to compensate for what you lack, this is a very reasonable choice.

Problems working.
Having set the phone up and add my apps etc, I had nothing but bother with it. It wouldn't connect Bluetooth or WiFi, also the phone seemed sluggish rather than quick to get between apps hence I very quickly sent it back.

The phone was about £250(ish) and seemed good spec for the money
I've been using this phone since around July last year. After having several i-phones and the last one giving up on me i decided to go back to android. I didn't want a contract so decided to buy an unlocked phone. I had no intention of paying £600-700 for something i probably only spend 60 mins max talking on a month. I use my phone for text, email, social media, shopping and my Amazon music. The phone was about £250(ish) and seemed good spec for the money. The only thing that worried me was it being a chinese smartphone that i hadn't really heard of so was worried about long term reliability. I can say any doubts 10 months on are long forgotten. As others have said, The camera is poor in low light but for the amount of use it gets. it's not a problem. The phone can get very hot at times and the battery drains quicker but it happens rarely. It is still lasting well from when i get up to bedtime when i plug it in again. This phone has genuinely been faultless up to now and worth every penny !Now the reason i decided to review it now is .... i forgot the phone in my pocket and jumped into my hot tub ! It was in there a good 15 mins, fully submerged at 40 degrees when i had a panic attack realising what i had done. Obviously there were no signs of life when i got it out so assumed the worse. I took it inside and dried it off but it was not responding. I removed the sim tray and shook the phone, water poured out. I then used a hair dryer on low aimed into the sim slot and water was seeping out of every crevice possible. I did this until noting else came out. The phone had sings of condensation in the display and camera lenses. I left it in the airing cupboard all night and tried it in the morning. Much to my amazement it switched on and worked as it should but still has slight water marking inside the display but it is reducing. It's unbelievable ! I just assumed a new phone was on the cards but i'll keep this for as long as it lasts. When it does finally give up i will certainly be buying another Umidigi phone !!

Ok for the money, but be aware about the available protection cases. If you do not care about the camera quality (I will not enter into details) it is ok.
