This item is fantastic because :-It is impossible for my 7month old to rip it off and throw it.-It helps her to lift finger food as she uses the side if the bowl for leverage.-It appears to be dishwasher safe - I put it in the top rack and have seen no ill affects-It is smaller than most I have seen on amazon so it fitted my baby's high chair.The downside which has lost it a couple of stars was the stench of a plastic/paraffin type smell upon opening it. Hand Washing it didn't get it out... Nor soaking it. It had to be run through the dishwasher several times to reduce the smell. (Note that this item is not guaranteed dishwasher safe).I did contact the seller who suggested I post it back and they offered to send me a new one, but by this time I had managed to make it ok through several rounds in the dishwasher. As a busy mum... Posting it back is an added hassle.I am giving this item a 3/5 as the smell was quite potent and would put me off my dinner! However once the smell has gone... This is a fantastic item that really does stick to the surface and reduce mess that comes with weaning.

No more messy floors purfect

I just bought this placemat for my son to use. He has recently started on solids and this mat is perfect to encourage baby led weaning. It's the perfect size for his high chair and no matter how hard he tries he can't throw the plate of the tray!! He can make all the mess he wants and at the end of the meal I can just stick it in the dishwasher. The reusable packaging is just great because it means I can take this mat anywhere! Would definitely recommend it to all!!

too big to fit onto the highchair tray

Bought the suction mat for my baby girl. Good quality product. Compared to other similar mats in the market , what I like about this one is that the size is perfect and fits very well on our high chair. Also, the suction cups allows the mat to stick really well, preventing my daughter from taking it off the chair. Overall , very happy with the product.

This product is useless. The suckers do not stick to the table or the high chair tray. It results in the baby spilling liquids and foods everywhere. If you want a mat that sticks. Do not buy this one.
