This sandal is a nod to the Paniolo (cowboys) and ranching culture found in island upcountry. Made with high-character, full-grain leather and embroidery inspired by the stitching on Hawaiian saddles, you'll feel the workmanship in every step. Made for the beach, not the ocean—prolonged contact with water may cause damage.

If they're too stiff at first, apply some leather conditioner to help break them in.
Comfort:After wearing some of the other, less expensive, OluKai leather flip flops for over a decade, this is my first pair of the higher-end, fully-leather-wrapped styles.I was actually quite disappointed at first, as they were very stiff, nowhere near as comfortable as the others, and even became painful after extended use. This was quite discouraging, but once I realized that it was simply a stiffness issue, I started "breaking them in" like I might a baseball glove, and I applied some leather conditioner to them to make them softer and protect them from the elements.Since applying the conditioner and getting them broken in, they're now far more comfortable than any of the other pairs - I'm glad I didn't send them back.

Worth the money
These will take a bit to break in. Especially the thong. Nice stitching and and support. I wear my other Olukais daily when it is warmer and go for long walks in them without worrying about arch support. Have worn these on deep sea fishing trips as well. The hard pads on the soles will wear out well before the leather so you’ll get a lot of years outta these. These are a bit too classy for fishing trips or water park stuff imho tho.

Great sandals, run small by two sizes in my case
I received my first pair of the brown Mekila sandals as a gift a little over 3 year ago. They took some time to break in, particularly the toe post.I work from home and wore them all day, everyday around the house. The left sandal frayed and finally broke a few days ago at the toe post! I don't think I have ever used another pair of foot wear as extensively. The embroidery had completely worn away.So I bought a new pair without thinking twice!I wear size 10 shoes and have wide feet, but I had to get size 12 for these.Great quality, beautiful embroidery. Highly recommended.

One of the best Premium Leather Sandals on the Market
This is a more Premium upgrade in the Olukai Sandal line with its embroidered stitching on the foot bed and with that upgrade comes an added price of $10 compared to the Mea Ola Sandals laser etching. Making the Mekila the highest priced Sandal in the Olukai line to date at $140.Now for the main question is it worth the premium price tag for these sandals? In my opinion yes, simply put they are one of the most comfortable pairs of Sandals I own in general only in competition with my all-leather Birkenstocks which are quite a bit over the price of the Mekilas. They are however the most comfortable thong sandals I own. They do run smaller though a little larger than the Mea Ola model but still small compared to other brands. They will stretch some so take that into account! My Birkenstocks usually are a size EU 46 so US 13 -13.5 and I get my OluKais in a size 14 in order to get the fit I need.

Awesome
These are so comfortable. A lot like going bear foot. They’re sleek, fun and my favorite flops!

seem like good quality, run small.
They look sharp and definitely the most expensive flip flops I’ve bought. We will see how well they hold up. I’m hoping for a very long time given the price. The stitching makes them look pretty sharp. They fit about a size small compared to other olukai sandals I tried.
