I will keep this because it's a useful little dongle. However, no 5 stars because I feel that the description and the answers re: connecting 2 monitors are a little misleading. You can connect a laptop (Chromebook in my case) to 2 monitors one via DVI and one via VGA. It will detect a second display and let you extend the desktop BUT display 3 can only mirror display 2, so no true triple monitor setup. The instructions that were included state this clearly, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the listing.

Wow, where to begin. I purchased this to use with my Steam Link which only has an HDMI out for video. I had an old monitor with VGA/DVI that I wanted to use as the display but it didn't have speakers. I plugged the HDMI into the Steam Link and I use a usb cable from it for the power (not sure if it is necessary or not) and use DVI to my monitor. I plugged in small usb powered speakers (also powered from the Steam Link) with the 3.5mm headphone jack and I can now stream anything from Steam or minimize it for great video streaming. The audio goes over HDMI and then is split to the 3.5mm headphone jack. I had no issues getting it working, it was plug and play. I did have to adjust the alignment in the Steam Link to account for resolution (I streamed 1080P@60hz). I haven't found anything out there that gives me this much flexibility.

I like this item a LOT! It works as advertised. It helped me to solve a compatibility problem with my Kano and an Asus HD computer monitor. When directly connected to my Kano, my monitor would not display a picture due to some signaling problem using a direct HDMI to DVI-D connector. When I connect the Kano to this device, and then connect this device to the monitor, the picture is perfect, and it also splits out the stereo audio on a 3.5mm audio jack. Surprisingly, the Kano is able to power this device over HDMI, so you don't necessarily need the separate power connection in all cases but your mileage may vary. I highly recommend this product.

Works perfect for hooking up a Roku to a computer monitor and powered speakers. Long story short, I have a music room where i didn't want or need a TV or computer or cable box or anything, but needed youtube and Pandora capability. I had a spare flat screen monitor with no HDMI. This works perfect, the picture and audio from the Roku is great, no lag time or stuttering or any issues. I just plugged it in, no power supply or anything needed. Well done, especially at this price!

Used this cable port to connect my laptop to two monitors and it worked perfect! My laptop only has an HDMI input and this cable worked like a charm and saved me lots of money when compared to installing a docking station. I would recommend to anyone looking for a cable for this purpose, I am certain there are lots of other uses as well.

I plugged it in to my computer's HDMI port, plugged the USB power into the computer, then plugged in two external monitors using the adapter's HDMI port and the VGA port. The monitors don't detect any input and the laptop doesn't detect any monitors attached. I think I may have gotten a dud device. I even tried different USB outlets on my computer in case it went bad--still nothing. I'm hoping the seller can help me troubleshoot or send a replacement please. Thank you.

I'm a software developer and I bought this so that I could have both my monitors attach to one port and quickly switch between my Windows laptop and Linux desktop on one HDMI. I tested this on Windows, Linux and Mac with the USB power cable and HDMI 2.1. Needless to say this was a complete waste of my time and money. The dongle only allows one display to tether at a time, so plugging in a VGA and HDMI simultaneously does NOT work. The GPU's that I'm using are GTX 1050 ti for Windows, GTX 630M for Linux and Radeon HD 6750M on Mac.

The picture quality was that poor when using it to display a monitor that I couldn’t use it. It seems pointless to have a an adaptor with three outlets that only lets you connect one monitor. If you want an adaptor that only lets you connect one monitor and gives a blurry picture - then this is your product. Otherwise don’t waste your money.

I bought this device specifically because the description said "NOTE: This adapter can support to connect VGA and HDMI External Displays to work at the same time". However, the instructions included with the device say that it will only support a single monitor at a time. I have tested to confirm that is the case on my Lenovo ideapad 710s and two Samsung C24F390FHU monitors. The device will display to monitor on VGA but as soon as I also plug in an HDMI cable to the device the display switches to the HDMI monitor and ceases to display on the VGA monitor. Confirmed by checking PC control panel and graphics card control panel. Will only detect one external monitor when connected to device and always prioritises HDMI connection. Therefore useless for intended purpose due to false description. Very disappointing. Returning for refund as soon as possible

The product is very useful as now in days many laptops have hdmi outputs only which can be a problem which it was for me, the laptop i have has a screen problem and hence i needed to externally view it hance by having this i had no problem in using it.The product is straight forward to use and gives many options although i simply use the vga option as that is the one which is most used by me and is most suited to my needs.The price is not bad for the quality of the product although i still think there is more avilable for the value i got this one for.

I have an old TV screen (18 years approx) with no USB port, so this was ideal when I wanted to get a roku stick to watch Netflix, amazon prime, iplayer etc on my TV. Great quality, super easy to connect.
