I hope that, when travelling, I am going to find this guide as useful as previous editions, but I suspect that there may be problems related to coverage. I live in north Cumbria on the Solway coast, and I was astonished by the guide’s very poor coverage of pubs near me. I could name at least three pubs which I’d recommend to anybody and which, I think, certainly deserve a ‘worth a visit’ entry, if not a full entry. Yet none of them gets a mention.I suppose the publishers would, not unreasonably, tell me that I should write some reviews and send them in, but, in the meantime, I don’t think that this edition of the guide would be very helpful to someone visiting my (perhaps rather remote?) part of the world.

This is another quality pub guide with all of the new ratings for the pubs around the UK.Pros:-Lots of pubs from every single county in the UK. In many cases pubs are a mere few miles away from each other, so in the rare case that the one they recommend isn't for you then you can just change!-Descriptive for each pub. Every description is fantastic and provides a great level of detail so that you can always be sure of what you are going to see when you get there.Cons:-No visible cons that I can see.Overall this guide is the best on the market at the moment and I would 100% recommend it to anyone!

My travellers "bible" for locating the best hostelries when en route. For me the best of the current guides for this section of the market, but lost some marks with the change to paid for entries in the main sections some years ago, resulting in some excellent venues being dropped from the main section.

Very useful and helpful guide. Took it on holiday with us to Devon and it was used most days as we were travelling round a lot.
