An excellent sounding DAC/headphone amp.
I bought this Xtreme Pro DAC/headphone amp after reading a very favourable review on audiosciencereview.com and I am extremely satisfied with it so far.The main reason for buying it was to get a bit more power when using my AKG K712 headphones out of my Moto G7 Power when using USB Audio Player Pro. UAPP instantly recognised the Xtreme Pro DAC/amp by name when connected to the phone and from that point on the difference in usable power available to drive the K712s was surprisingly large. Certainly more than I would ever need. The sound has great clarity and is wonderfully open with these headphones with plenty of control over low notes.I do have other headphones in my collection (Nighthawk Carbon, Nightowl Carbon, Fidelio L1, Fidelio X2, HD598SR, Yamaha HPH MT5, Yamaha HPH200) and even though they require less power to drive than the K712s they do benefit sonically from being used with the Xtreme Pro rather than with the DAC/headphone amp on the phone. Battery consumption on my phone is negligible after several hours use with the Xtreme Pro powering the K712s which is another benefit I wasn't quite expecting.I honestly don't feel that I am missing out on not having bought a Dragonfly Red for the extra £105 (although a side-by-side comparison may ultimately prove me wrong).Highly recommended!

Great value, excellent clarity and precision
Bought for my Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, I started straight away with Yosi Horikawa (FLAC) on PowerAmp, with AKGK92 over ear headphones, and 1More quad driver in ears. What a difference!Moved on to Meredith Monk, Refused (The Shape of Punk to Come), and John Surman's bucolic saxophone. Great improvement on all these very different albums. An improvement on lossless files, on MP3, and streaming.I have a Behringer UCA222 (€20, so nearly half price), which is marginally better, especially in signal amplification and bass, but it is far more power hungry, and not as portable as the XTremPro.I was undecided between the XTremPro, the DragonFly Black and the Cygnus, but I am very happy with the value of the XtremPro. Without listening to the other two, I very much doubt they're better value, given the price difference.Comes with USB A male to female adapter, and a 3.5 to 6.35 adapter (cable), ***but no adapter to USB C or USB micro***Happy listening, everyone!

Stunning sound
I decided to get an Android DAP player, so I got the FiiO M9. Turned out a good decision, wonderful sound and many uses including streaming Spotify. But I also have an Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet and a Xiaomi Mi A2 phone and wanted to upgrade the sound on those with a very small USB stick type DAP. So I considered the Dragonfly Black and the Dragonfly Red but decided they were too expensive and took a chance on this well reviewed Xtrem pro X1. To make sure I would get the best sound I purchased 'USB Audio Player Pro' from Google play, and installed it in my Amazon Fire HD 8 and my phones. It's £5.99 and installs its own driver and gives both software and hardware volume control. One outlay of £5.99 for multiple devices. Wow! Takes the sound when using the USB Audio Player to another level. The Sabre DAP chip comes alive. With good IEMs or Earbuds the sound is just exceptional. The bog standard Amazon Fire HD 8 is usually just OK. Now it is real dynamic pure HiFi. Works best with USB Audio Player Pro, but it still improves the sound without it. The best £36.00 I have invested. Xtrem Pro XI...brilliant.

Not good
I bought this and an iNessan dongle DAC to compare and drive my Grado headphones from my phone or PC. The iNessan dongle DAC with ALC4050 Realtek chip is so much better, higher output volume and half the price.

Very Impressive USB Dac
I have an AudioQuest DragonFLy black as the main audio output on my pc, I purchased this little beauty to use on my laptop, very clear sound excellent chipset it uses TAS1020B+ES9023+TPA6130A2 Dac is an ESS Sabre but I know if my Dragonfly ever packed in I would replace it with one of these. Good value for money impressed so far.

Budget DAC with superior sound quality
I never owned a DAC before and I'm not really an audiophile, but I've been using Tidal lately and decided to up my game. Using this DAC in my android phone with "USB Audio Pro" app works really well. The sound quality is superb and the detail is definitely better. Make sure you force 96khz resampling in the settings to enable the full potential of the device.

Ottimo Dac, potente su PC, volume insufficiente su Android.

For the price, not sure if there's anything better, yet. Ordered a second.
This is by no means a perfect device but for what it is and the price of it, it's a very capable headphone dac/amp for driving low power headphones as it can only output 125 mW @ 32ohms, which is probably its biggest downside. At first, I was kind of disappointed because of the excessive bass but then the sound grew on me, and I started to lighten up about the bass because it's actually rich, tight and weighty and not loose or muddy, It's probably the most detailed sounding headphone dac I've heard so far, especially considering the $32-$40 price range, even when compared to more expensive ones I've tried, and I definitely don't have the best headphones plugged into them, so that's quite a treat. The soundstage is huge, both wide and deep, not so much a complete all around your head kind of sound but has an articulate sound, you can hear every little pick of a string, fret buzz when a guitar is being played, or the slap of a bass, and I can actually hear lyrics in a song I couldn't understand before, things sometimes creepily sound like they're coming from behind, directly in front, or fade in/out diagonally in a 3d kind of way. It's weird because the song sounds like it's taken apart and played in pieces rather than all the instruments muddled together. This of course isn't the case for every song, and some notes can sound soft and distant in certain parts, likely due to being recessed in some frequencies but overall it can pick out lots of details in the music and make every fundamental instrument or voice have a presence that you wouldn't normally hear with your headphones plugged straight into a PC or phone. You can hear the individual words one after the other as if they were spoken clearly in the lyrics. The overall sound is lush with a punchy high-end, I would say like big speakers in the same room, rather than a completely imaginative and superb instrument separation but it has its moments with certain songs. I'm pleasantly surprised with this device, I'm also fairly happy with the build quality of the device itself and the accessories that came included for the amount of money it cost, even if the device was $20 more, it would still be worth it in my opinion. Another thing to note, is that the components are similar or the exact same as the AudioQuest Dragonfly v1.2, so you're getting a similar device for less than half the price, meaning two of these would still be less money. Highly recommended!Pros:InexpensiveNoticeable sound upgradeGreat low end bassGreat amount of detail, transparency and articulation, songs can sound bizarre and out of this worldLarge sound, surround sound effect.Clear rich/full tight punchy soundMostly clean signalVery good build qualityComes with useful accessories, like a 1/4" female to male mini jack adapter and a USB extension cable that are good in build quality, and a little pouchCons:Highs can be fatiguing and piercing at timesLower mids-upper bass is a little quiet in some songsMinor hiss in signal to noise ratio with higher amplification for higher impedance headphonesStereo Imaging and instrument separation is not the best and not the widest but makes up for it in depth and 3d surround sound effectWeak amplifier with no volume controlsIncluded pouch is a little too thin for protection

qualité suffisante
Par contre pour ce qui est de l'emploi, c'est tintin pour la langue française...mauvais point, une étoile en moins.

Quality Sound at a Low Price.
I'm using this DAC on my Android phone, and when paired with a USB-C OTG adapter, works quite well. It's simple to use, sounds great, is inexpensive, and is relatively small compact. Cleaner output and more power than a BF Black at one third the price? Awesome. It also works well as an upgrade for audio on a motherboard, many of which suffer from EMI issues. There are a couple of negatives though. First and foremost, the DAC has a pretty high power draw but that's not surprising given the power of the amp. The other is that it needs software that can access hardware DACs directly, so you'll need Neutron (which is what I use), Onkyo HF Player or Hiby Music. It won't work in the Play Music app, unfortunately. If you can live with those restrictions, the XtremPro X1 is a great piece of kit.
