Fixed TiVo S3 power supply
A friend gave me her non-working TiVO series 3. It was stuck in a reboot cycle. After a new hard drive didn’t fix the problem I checked the next most common issue: faulty capacitors in the power supply. After watching the online videos and looking at pics it was obvious some of the capacitors were bulging. This took less than 15 minutes to fix and this solved the problem. I’m going to use the rest to replace identical capacitors in another power supply. I also purchased a second type of capacitors and replaced those at the same time. If you can (watch a video to learn how to) de-solder & solder, this is an easy fix and TREMENDOUS value for the money.
