Poor wifi perfomance fixed by adding new antenna
Camera works and sets up great when hardwired but I have terrible performance on wifi. The router says the connection is solid at 75mBPS TX but only 4 RX and the video feed says updating in the single kB range. Even panning the camera is painfully slow over wifi. I've tried both the android phone client and the built in web page but both are slow. I don't think this is a wifi strength issue but seems to be an wifi interface problem. I'll continue to investigate. No issues when hardwired........9/5/2019 - I tracked the slow operation to the poorly designed antenna in the camera. The antenna is seriously undersized and will not give any reasonable distance for operation. I salvaged an antenna and connector from a broken webcam and installed it. Before the modification my router was seeing on 4 or 5 mBPS now its seeing 55 mBPS +. The video feed and motion control now work fine. Unless you are planning on using the camera in the same room as the access point or a hard wiring it I don't think this camera will work well.

Works great! Easy and quick set up
Works great! Easy and quick set up. Has a great quality picture during both day-time and on night-time modes. The app that comes with it is very easy to use as well. One question I had that I was not sure of before was if it was possible to delete photos and video from the SD card through the app. I have seen that it is possible to format the SD card from the app but I do not see that you can delete just specific photos or video. However, you do have the option to save photos and video to you phone allowing you to have them backed up prior to formating the SD Card. The SD Card is only used if you have the alert notification on. If you have that Alert notification off then the unit is not recording anything. When you log in you will just be able to see the live feed. Knowing that I don't plan on having it in alert mode all the time means that I probably would not have needed as large of a SD Card as I had gotten. But, at least I have it should I ever have the need for an extended period of time to have it in alert mode. Maybe while on vacation or something like that. We started out with just one camera and have since purchased more. The app allows you to install multiple cameras and to name each one so you can see all of them within the same app. If you do not require 24/7 recording then I think this is a perfect camera. I like the way you can move the camera around also from the app. The camera however, does not scroll down very far. I have mine sitting inside my entertainment center with all the other components so it isn't really visible and it has a floor to ceiling view.

Works well after you get it hooked up...
Went on a trip to China recently. It was great to be able to keep tabs on what was going on in my home while I was thousands of miles away. I have three of these cameras and they work very well. Sometimes they go off line and one did while I was in China. Nothing to be done while you are away because you have to reinstall the unit. But I had two others still working. These can be very difficult to hook up or they can be a breeze. I tore my hair out trying to get one camera to install via my smartphone. Took me two days. Another one installed without any problems. I don't know what the difference is, why one was easy and one was so difficult. Regardless, they all work and when they work, they work very well.

Like being able to view and record 24/7
I bought one of these a couple of years ago and loved being able to view, listen and speak to my dogs while I'm at work. I wanted another for the side bedroom where my dogs tend to go throughout the day. I ended up putting it in the window in this bedroom and can now record my backyard to an SD card for security all day and night, as well. When the dogs go into the bedroom I just pan to watch them. I originally bought a KAMTRON camera that was more expensive, when I received it, it literally looked exactly the same and even used the exact same app, but it was only a 720p video, which visually covered way less of the room. Other than that it was exactly the same, so I returned it and bought this instead - THIS IS MUCH BETTER! I'm glad I looked for it, because when I clicked on my old order to repurchase it said it was discontinued.

SETUP
Straight out of the box I could not set up the wifi connection to the device until I used the supplied connector cable plugged directly into my cable gateway (router). Once it connected the device through the hardwired connection, the device got a firmware update. I then went into the app, deleted the device and I was able to re add the device using wifi connection. I hope this saves someone some frustration! I am very happy with every aspect of this device now! I just wish I had known it needed a firmware update. I would recommend this camera to anyone its great for the price.
