Don't hesitate to purchase the safety bar
These suction cup safety grab bars are absolutely 💯 % fantastic ! ! !. I installed them in our walk-in shower in our master bathroom . I cleaned the surface with TileX and then with isopropyl alcohol to make sure the areas were spotless free from soap residue and from hair conditioner. The walk-in shower is a precast fiberglass shower unit and the walls are smooth as glass I followed the enclosed instructions and we couldn't be more happier with the outcome. The suction cups have incredible holding. power well beyond my expectations.I'm not a small guy and I tried to get the suction to break and it ain't gonna happen I can actually see the walls of the shower surround flexing and this shower surround is not one of those cheap units from a home center it was custom made so it's incredibly strong and when I actually saw the Wall moving when I tried to get the safety bar to fail I was convinced that if it's not going to let loose after me purposely trying to make it come loose. Now I'm confident it's going to be safe for my wife if she needs to grab hold of it. The only draw back is make sure you put it where you want it because it's no easy task to get the suction cups to break loose take it from experience because I had to do it.I purchased a 16" safety bar for another manfacture because I did see that the original seller of these offered a 16" bar.The one I purchased from a different seller appeared to be identical to the ones I originally bought. Well when I receive it and tried to install it no matter what I did it kept falling off. Don't be fooled from a look alike.

Works on mildly textured surface
These worked like a charm on a slightly bumpy non-porous 4.25” tile texture because the suction cups have a sticky coating and are flexible enough to conform to the tile surface. They won’t budge. The handles are comfortable to grip and adds a little reassurance if you have balance concerns. Make sure you map out where to place them before you take the protective plastic covers off and avoid installing them on top of tile seams. My elderly mom used to be hesitant to take a shower regularly so these made her feel much safer and more independent. Well worth the money!

Sturdy and stay on the tile
We bought a set of 2 of these for our big walk-in shower since mom moved in with us. When she departs from her walker into the shower she now has these bars to hold on to! They stay on nicely. They have not let go yet, but I think we should all just check on them from time to time to make sure they didn't loosen. Ours are stuck hard only our shower tile. Our tiles are NOT shiny. They are a bit textured, but are NOT porous. If they were porous, I could imagine these bars would soon lose their grip. We are very happy with these bars.

They work but look awful!
Since my wife and I are older, we're more conscious of safety around our home. That means adding a couple of handle bars to our shower. I didn't want to have to drill through my porcelain tile to attach metal bars, so I chose the suction cup style. These seem to work so far. I read the reviews about people who experienced theirs falling off after a while. I really think that if you apply them to the right clean surface (mine is smooth faced porcelain tile) and follow the instructions for pushing the suction cups towards the surface before locking them down. They immediately stuck very tight and haven't budged in a week of showers. It helps to mount them vertically so as to better balance weight distribution. I chose the metallic finish to try and match the fixtures in my shower. Should have chosen white! These look like someone used a pump sprayer bottle to apply silver paint over sandpaper! I know they're plastic, but compare them to the plastic shower head I purchased at a retail store that actually looks like metal! I've given them a '4' star rating but primarily because they work; they'd get a '1' based on looks alone otherwise! The instructions clearly state that these are not to be used to support your full body weight but to help you balance yourself while getting in/out or maneuvering. And for that, they work well If you need more support you'll need to consider the bolt on kind!

Strong hold, caution on install methods
If you have a really smooth non-porous surface, then this holds like a pit bull with lock jaw.I used hard water descaler and then scrubbed with warm water for a while. I then let it dry.Next day I pull off the plastic covers and place it on the shower wall. I can hang from it but I only weigh 160lbs.Idk how long the seal will last, but it did come with some sort of sticky coating, so I am hopeful that the seal will hold. I think it would seal best if installed at 110°f or basically after a hot shower. I have a steamer, so I might try that if it fails to hold on.Since air expands when heated, if you install when cold, it may fall off when a hot shower heats it up.Notice in the second photo where you can see it still have mineral deposits that will allow air to slowly leak in behind the seal over time. So, i will likely clean again with chemical of it falls off.43$ is pricey, but still cheaper than permanent wall mount units. Plus you get two of these.

Invaluable to help injuries
a family member sustained a severe head injury with a fall at work. As a result she seems prone to falling or dizzyness. These handles hold tightly to the wall and help in that space from sitting to standing or holding still till the diZzyness passes. When the injury is fully healed, they will make a great addition to emergency supplies

Super strong suction that pissed me off trying to get it repositioned lol.
Super strong suction, it stayed on for over a month without issue. I’m sure it would have stayed on even longer but I remove it since my dad no longer needed it. It was so hard to get off the wall that I was scared it was adhesive type of suction. But it wasn’t. True to the description it was just plain old vacuum. Luckily I had a silicon spatula to use to break the suction off the wall with MUCH difficulty. No marks or residue on my tile afterward!
