1 year review
Purchased a year ago so this is not one of those “out of the box” useless reviews. I use this to pump from a lake to a water tank we use at an off-grid cabin for showers. I typically use it on an approximate 8 ft lift about 30 feet from lake although I have used it successfully at about 100 ft with 12 ft lift. I purchased it with an extra battery but really don’t need it since one battery will easily fill 75 gallons with juice to spare. It delivers with good pressure very similar to any water garden hose. It’s easy to use, no priming, just put in battery and turn on. It’s loud but most little gas pumps are loud and besides nobody has to hear me cuss as I fight a gas one to start! I does sy to lubricate with WD-40 but I wasn’t crazy about adding that to my shower water so I just hit it with cooking spray into the impeller and discharge and let it sit a bit then flush briefly add my hose and go. I also keep this as a possible fire hose pump and what it lacks in power it makes up in quick use…add a battery and it works. For the price this is a pretty darn good! It’s a cheap plastic pump. I doubt I’ll be passing it to my grand children but it works, is low maintenance and I would recommend and buy again

It is pretty noisey and switch hard to turn off and on.
Overall the pump works pretty good. Pumps pretty fast with good volume. Battery could be better charge wise. I noticed and so did my wife that the off and on switch was pretty stiff. It reall is hard to turn on and off. It seems that the gearing for the pump is what makes the most noise. Overall though, I have to say it does pump pretty good.

Unreliable Performance and Design Flaws – Disappointed with POPULO Hybrid Water Transfer Pump
I purchased the POPULO Hybrid Water Transfer Pump, attracted by its dual power options (120VAC and 20VDC) and portability. However, my experience has been marred by several technical and design issues that compromise its reliability.Inconsistent Operation: The pump's performance is erratic. At times, it fails to prime properly, requiring multiple attempts to start the water flow. This inconsistency is frustrating, especially when dealing with time-sensitive tasks.Battery Limitations: While the 20VDC battery option is convenient, the battery life is underwhelming. During my usage, the battery drained quickly, and the recharge time was longer than expected. This limits the pump's practicality for extended use without access to AC power.Design Concerns: The pump's design includes a detachable base and top-mounted handle, which are intended for stability and portability. However, the base doesn't provide sufficient stability during operation, and the handle feels flimsy, raising concerns about its durability over time.Populo ToolsMaintenance Challenges: The pump requires priming oil before use, adding an extra step to the setup process. Additionally, the need to regularly lubricate the impeller and shaft to prevent seizing adds to the maintenance burden. This is not ideal for users seeking a low-maintenance solution.Populo Tools+1Reddit+1RedditConclusion: Despite its appealing features on paper, the POPULO Hybrid Water Transfer Pump falls short in practical application. Its inconsistent performance, battery limitations, and design flaws make it a less-than-ideal choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient water transfer solution.

Plastic!!
So the pump is very handy. Not a lot of power but works for the garden. The only real complaint I have is the threads where the hoses connect are very cheap plastic. If you happen to cross thread it once the threads are shot.

Met my Expectations
I bought this to help keep my pool at the proper level over the winter. After a long rain, just used it for the first time and it worked great. I was able to empty the skimmers in seconds and lover the spa to a good level in a few more seconds. I used the battery, which charged in about 3 hours. Set-up was easy too. I used the oil that was provided. Performance was great. This was always a hassle with my old pump. Now I won't dread doing it so much.

Worked well
My brother lives very rural and was carrying buckets of water to trees he had planted. With this he was able to pump water from the creek to his trees. One batter lasted 45” si I bought him a second battery so he could get water to every tree in one go. 3-4 h to charge each battery. I use mine to pump water to my horses from barrels while horse camping, also to refill the barre. Limited uphill push, so beware.

Exceeds expectations
This pump was an excellent purchase. I am using this pump to water 10 8' green giant trees where the only available water source is the creek on my property. I live in the mountains and this is a fast running creek with 4' to 6' banks. I was amazed that the pump was able to pull water from the creek and water the trees using a 50' hose. The battery lasted just long enough to water all of the trees. I'm adding more trees so I just purchased a 2nd battery. My farm has many trees and shrubs that have been planted that are not near conventional water sources so this pump is going will be very handy for other areas of the farm
